Coaches Safety & Technique Training Course

Cheer Alliance has developed a safety, risk management and technique course for coaches - featuring a 3 hour in-class session, a 1.5 hour hands-on skills portion and a comprehensive exam.
Topics will include emergency action plans, reacting to an emergency, risk management, effective practices, CA and USASF rules, fundamental and core stunt technique (up to USASF level 3), and fundamental tumbling drills. There will be an optional additional session for coaches looking to discuss specific scoring questions using the CA score system.
All coaches will receive a Resource Manual that encompasses all the material covered in the course, stunt and tumbling technique (up to USASF level 5), jump drills, conditioning, stretching and the IASF and Cheer Alliance divisional rules for 2010-11.
The afternoon will host an athletes skills clinic, allowing the coaches to practice the skills hands-on and allowing the athletes to work with senior Cheer Alliance instructors.
This training course will focus on fundamental and core techniques (L1-3). If enough interest is expressed we will offer a similar training course for advanced techniques (L4-5) on another date in the fall. If interested please email info@cheeralliance.ca
COST: $60.00 per coach * $10.00 per athlete
TIME: Coaches Session 9-12, 1-2 Athlete Session 2:30-4:30 Coaches Exam & Review 2:30-3:30
A choreography/scoring session will be offered at no additional cost from 3:30-4:30 for those who wish to attend.
LOCATION: Rick Hansen Secondary School, Mississauga
*Price per coach based on a minimum of 15 athletes attending the skills session. If attending without a team, please see registration form for rates.
All coaches and athletes must complete a waiver form in order to participate in any part of the course. Coaches must also complete a coaches code. A completed registration form with payment must be received in office before registration will be considered complete.
